It is great to see the changes that have happened to our school meals since February half term. Only a couple of schools in Gateshead have decided to replace their air line trays with dinner plates and dessert bowls/plates. This means that at Clover Hill Primary we now serve a distinct two course meal to our children. After they have finished their main course they are then able to collect their dessert.
The children are thrilled with this and have commented on how nice everything looks and how much better it is to eat off proper plates. They no longer have to sit looking at their dessert whilst they are trying to eat their dinner! The pupils have given us great feedback and feel that our dining hall is now like a proper restaurant- which even plays background music!
One great success has been the salad bar. Children are able to help themselves to as much salad as they like. Our salad bar includes: lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, carrots, peppers and celery.
