Year 4 had a fantastic time when they visited the Hindu Temple in Newcastle. The Pandit Ji (priest) told us how Hindu people worship and all about the many gods.
Year 4 were really excited to see the shrines of  some of the gods they had studied.
DSCF0261.JPGWe learnt that Hindu’s walk round the shrines to remind them that god is at the centre of their lives. There were bells ringing and incense sticks burning because they use all their senses during worship.
DSCF0269.JPGWe sketched the gods, the shrines and the Hindu symbols, and also recorded notes to help us with our research back at school.
Mrs Broadfoot was so proud that Class 4 behaved so well at the temple. People who were worshiping  at the temple commented on what a delight the children were !
