We were joined by the cubs, scouts, brownies, rainbows, guides, air force and police cadets, Northumbria Police, the fire brigade and ambulance service to name but a few.
The march from the top of Whickham bank along to the cenotaph was accompanied by the sounds of the brass band and led by our very own Chair of Governors, Councillor Peter Craig.
Our two Year 6 school councillors, Hisham and Courtney laid a wreath on behalf of our school.
It was a very emotional occasion and service led by Father Barry which had been discussed thoroughly in our school the week before. Our children made generous donations for poppies to wear throughout the week and we all took part in a 2 minute silence at 11am on Friday to pray for those people affected by war.
We are hoping to involve more of our school community in the parade next year as it was such a special event to attend.
