Dear Parents / Carers,

 

We hope you all had a lovely Easter break and the children are refreshed and ready for the very busy term ahead!

 

We also have some exciting topics to focus upon this term, including completing our ancient Greek topic and learning about the history of the Olympic Games.

 

In addition to this we will be covering the following topics:

 

Literacy – Reports, Persuasive Writing and reading Wreck of the Zanzibar

Numeracy – Data Handling, Calculation and Shape, Space & Measures

Science – Changing State and Lifecycles

ICT – Control and Sensing

PE – Tennis, Cricket and Athletics

History – Ancient Greece

RE – Christianity and Islam

Art & DT – Ancient Greek Art and CAMs

PSHE – Relationships & Changes

 

Year 5 Routines Continue as Usual

·        PE Kit (both indoor & outdoor) – Tuesday and Wednesday

·        Library Books – Wednesday

·        Homework – Set on a Friday and returned on a Tuesday

·        Spellings – Set on a Friday for a test on following Friday

 

Don’t forget it is our class assembly on Friday 27th April at 2:50pm, if you can make it I’m sure the children would be delighted to perform to a big audience!
