Wednesday dawned bright and breezy, thankfully – ready for the WHOLE school to go outdoors for the WHOLE day!!!

Staff had planned lots of fun activities for learning through our environment.  The children were organised into their castle teams, with different age groups from 4 up to 11 years working togther.

Melanie Hills from the National Trust at Gibside had volunteered to help us for the day and set up orienteering for us which the children loved!!

Other activities on offer were:

Nature Art:

Pond Dipping

Classifying plants and insects

Leaf rubbings

Lunch was a picnic outside – lots of fun, music and games… and of course lots of happy chatter!

Look out for more photos from this fabulous day – each group had a camera so there will be lots of super photos to share!
