To support our topic ‘The Victorians’ this term, we have booked a visit to Beamish Museum. The date of the visit is Friday 29th September. We will be leaving school at 9.30 and will return at 4.30pm. Children are to be collected from the front of the school, outside the main office.
I would like the children (and accompanying staff!!) to dress in Victorian style clothes. Ideas for this are:
Long skirt Dark shorts/trousers
White apron Mop hat Shirt Flat cap
Blouse/shirt Shawl Waistcoat
Sensible school shoes Sensible school shoes
We have booked a Victorian school experience session and a guided trip down into the drift mine. The children have a number of tasks to complete throughout the day which will be followed up in class. We have also booked an educational officer from Beamish Museum to come into school to build on the children’s learning experiences following their visit.
Children will need a packed lunch and drink and a small afternoon snack. Please ensure the bag is of a sensible size and is easy to carry all day. It is advisable to pack a lightweight waterproof jacket too.
The cost of this visit, including coach travel, entry to the museum, additional learning sessions and a workshop from the Education Team back in school is
£7.45. Cheques to be made payable to Clover Hill Primary School.
Parental permission to attend the visit must be written into your child’s planner and signed.
Please note that unfortunately family free passes cannot be used in conjunction with school visits.
If you have any queries regarding the visit, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
