World Book Day
To celebrate World Book Day on Thursday March 7th, the children can come into school dressed as their favourite book character should they wish to do so.
If children prefer however, they can come into school in non uniform as long as they wear at least one item of blue.
We are promoting the idea that reading books can banish ‘the blues’ as part of our work on mindfulness. ‘The blues’ can take the form of boredom, anger, sadness, loneliness and many other emotions that we experience as humans. Losing ourselves in a good bookcan help alleviate these feelings by relaxing the body and soothing our mind.
Children may also bring in their favourite book to school to share with their friends. Classes will be taking part in special reading activities throughout the day.
