Over the last few days, our butterflies have been emerging from their chrysalises, much to the excitement of the girls and boys in Reception, so today it was time to set them free and wave good bye. The first one was very keen to set off and was out of the net immediately but the next one took a little longer and the last two seemed quite reluctant to leave us. Fortunately, this meant that we were able to get lots of close up views of it on the grass and on the side of the net. We managed to see the delicate, patterned wings and the proboscis (curly tongue on its face). Good bye and good luck, butterflies!
