Year 2Miss Mitchell (Class Teacher), Mrs Potts (Teaching Assistant)
I have worked at Clover Hill since 2007, spending 8 years in Reception before moving to Year 2 in 2015.
As well as teaching my class I am also the Key Stage 1 leader and have overall school responsibility for Special Educational Needs and Modern Foreign Languages.
In Year 2 we are lucky to have our own Teaching Assistant, Mrs Potts who works hard in class supporting the children every morning. She has been a Clover Hill parent and has worked at the school for 8 years both as a lunchtime supervisor, Special Needs Assistant and Teaching Assistant.
Year 2 is an extremely important year, teaching a lot of new knowledge and skills and preparing the children to leave Key Stage 1 and move onwards and upwards to Key stage 2 and beyond.
Today the children of Clover Hill were very lucky to have lots of visitors in school. Not only did we have school Governors, Mr Stroud and Cllr Ord, we also had The Mayor of Gateshead (Pauline Dillon), Len Burns (the District President of the Rotary Club), Elaine...

Children from Reception, Year One and Year Two join together each Tuesday for gym club. We have been working hard to stretch our bodies into different shapes, we have also been balancing, rolling and working on the benches and beam!
Year 2 enjoyed a fun session with Professor Brainstorm learning all about light and sound. The children found out how sounds can be changed, how shadows are made, what happens when colours are mixed and how our eyes can play tricks in optical illusions.
The long jumper Scott Hall worked with Year 2 inspiring them to be the best they can be. The children were enthusiastic about learning about a new sport and really enjoyed his workshop.
Today the Tasty Tuck shop opened for business. The RotaKids and Health and Safety team ran the shop by taking money, stock taking and replenishing the stock which sold out from the stands. We still plenty of tasty snacks ready for Friday break time so please remember...
