School Association

We are very well supported by a group of school family members- parents and grandparents who work really hard. They help raise funds for the school to provide additional treats and resources for the children and they also provide help and support for activities and trips.

What have we been up to recently?

We’ve held several events this year, including cake stalls and a raffle. The main three events were –

Halloween Cinema Club, October 2017

As always, cinema club proved to be very popular with the children and parents. With very little effort, we raised £261.

Christmas Fair, December 2017

This was our main event this year and was a great success raising over £1000. We incorporated local businesses, organised craft activities for the children, decorated a ‘Grotto’ for Santa to welcome the children to take an ‘Elfie Selfie’ and were overwhelmed by the generosity of local people and businesses in their donations to our raffle.

Summer Disco at the Coachman, June 2018

The local pub agreed to host a family disco for us which was well attended. The Coachman also provided the buffet free of charge, which helped to keep our costs down.  We charged £5 for tickets per adult and per child which included the buffet.  There was a maximum number of 100 people for the space provided and parents had to be present and responsible for their own children.  This was great in terms of keeping the work to a minimum for the School Association.  The addition of a ‘football card’ to the evening meant that we raised £279 on the night.
