This morning, we had an e-visit from the author of The Snowman Code - Simon Stephenson. Simon told us how his story writing had led him to work at Pixar. He is one of the three writers of the film "Luca" and told us how screenwriters at Pixar create new stories for our screens using the 3P's - Plot. Place and People.Â
He talked about how it is important to write about something you feel strongly about and to write about feelings because they come natutally to you. He talked about one of his favourite memories being of building snowmen back iin his hometown of Edinburgh. He started to research snowpeople and found out the tallest ever snowperson built was over 8 double decker buses tall, and was a snowwoman called Romana. There was also a snow army with 2000 soldiers! From all these facts, The Snowman Code was born. It took over a year and a half to write with lots of editing - a really important skill to have in Year 5. Simon said there are no such as too many rewritesÂ
