Reception Class read the story of "Handa's Surprise".  We looked at where Handa lives on a map and a globe and looked at how far it is from where we live in the UK, we talked about how we could travel there.  We found out about lots of different animals that live in Kenya and talked about how Handa's village looks different to where we live.  We retold the story using puppets, painted African animals and created our own stories using the small world animals.  We drew the fruits that Handa placed in her basket then we enjoyed tasing them when we made our own fruit salad!
