Autumn 2 – 2024 – Reception Class

Dear Parents and Carers,

We hope you all enjoyed your half term break, we have had a very busy and successful start to the new half term!

Reading - Reading books will be changed each Friday if your child has shared their book with you at least three times, please add a brief dated comment in your child's “Home Links” each time your child reads.

Thank you very much for the support you give your child in learning their Tricky Words and in supporting the development of their phonic knowledge. We are really pleased with how the children are getting on. Please ensure the Home Links book, reading book and Early Reading Pack come into school each day.  Thank you!

Seesaw - We hope you are all enjoying the Seesaw app that we are using to show you a little snap shot of school life.  Please remember you can always send us a photo of your child learning at home too, they may be learning to ride their bike, exploring the local area on a walk, completing a jigsaw, playing a family game or anything else that you would like to share with us!  We love to see what the children enjoy doing at home!

P.E. - Everyone has embraced our P.E. sessions and seem to be really enjoying them!  P.E sessions continue to be each Wednesday, please send your child into school dressed in their kit.

Jumpers and Cardigans - To enable the children to choose whether they work outside or inside during our ‘Busy Jobs’ time, the classroom doors are open all day. Consequently, our classroom can get a bit chilly at this time of year. Please ensure that your children wear a school jumper or cardigan to school each day and that they bring a coat.  As the weather gets cooler please send hats and mittens or gloves.  (A plea, if your child finds putting gloves on difficult could you opt to send mittens, putting on 30 pairs of gloves can be rather time consuming!)

Lunches - Menus will continue to be sent home each Friday for you to complete and return each Monday.

Many thanks for your continued support, please catch one of the team if you have any queries or email us receptionclass@cloverhill.school
